Dear Leona Group Students and Families,
Today, Governor Ducey announced that school campuses will remain closed through the end of this school year, as well as issuing a stay at home order. We want you to have clear information about what this order means, alleviating any concerns you may have as to how this impacts you, our schools, and your continuing access to education.
Here is language directly from the Governor’s announcement today: “On March 27, Governor Ducey signed legislation to support schools during closures, ensure school letter grades are held harmless, suspend statewide testing requirements, ensure school days are not extended into the summer, require learning opportunities for students to continue, and ensure teachers and staff see no disruption in pay as a result of COVID-19.”
The order issued today continues this policy. As a result:
The Governor’s stay at home order encourages all Arizonans to “stay home, stay healthy and stay connected.” We echo this sentiment, encouraging our students and families to take every possible precaution in remaining healthy.
Governor Ducey’s order also specifically states that essential services such as grocery stores, pharmacies and schools will continue to operate. This means our campuses will continue to offer distance learning for all students.
We understand these are uncertain times. Please know that we are committed to our students and families. Of that, you can be certain.
Together, we will keep putting students first, doing everything we can to meet their needs academically, physically and emotionally. And, together, we will get through this, stronger than ever.
Sincerely,
William Coats, Ph.D.

Sinceramente,
William Coats, Ph.D.
