3/13/20 Update
This has been a trying time for our school families and employees. After careful consideration of community efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), and out of concern for the health of our students, educators, and families, schools have decided to close our campues. List below.
This is not a decision we have made lightly. Until now, we have been closely monitoring the situation, coordinating with state agencies, working with our governing board and management company, and taking every preventative effort possible to keep our campus both safe and open. Despite having no COVID-19 cases reported by any adults or students on our campus, we believe that waiting for that event would put our school community in an unsafe situation. Our governing board is holding an emergency meeting today to authorize this closure.
We care deeply about how this decision impacts you, your child, and your family. Although this closure is designed to protect the health of all students and educators, we are acutely aware of the challenges this decision presents for you.
In light of these deliberations, we have prepared contingency plans to meet the needs of students. We will continue to provide meals for students who rely on us for lunch or breakfast. Further details about these provisions including scheduling will be forthcoming over the weekend.
Additionally, we will be sending out information about our plans for delivering instruction as we finalize them if our closure lasts for an extended period of time. Our leadership team has been working proactively on plans to implement a remote learning process that will serve our student population.
Our entire staff is committed to the continued success of your student during this unprecedented challenge. If you have any concerns, or if we are able to support you in any way not addressed above, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the school’s main office. We will be strategically staffed during this time to deep-clean the campus, support our students, and prepare for everyone’s safe return to campus.

3/12/20 Update
The health and safety of our students and staff is always our highest priority. Because of this, and as a result of public concerns regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19), we are writing to share information about what we are doing to ensure the safest learning environment possible for your child.
First and foremost, we are maintaining a normal schedule for all students. This means all regularly scheduled classes and activities for our students are taking place as usual.
We remain in close contact with the Arizona Department of Education and have been assured that school closures are not recommended by the Arizona Department of Health Services or any county Department of Public Health. Should this change, we are prepared to respond accordingly.
Second, we remain vigilant about sanitizing our campuses. This includes disinfecting commonly used surfaces such as desks, doors, food service areas, drinking fountains, restrooms, buses, P.E. equipment, etc.
We are also reminding every student and staff member to exercise appropriate personal hygiene habits. This includes regular handwashing with plenty of soap for at least 20 seconds, the use of hand sanitizer in classrooms, and sneezing or coughing into facial tissue or an elbow, not into hands.
Most importantly, we encourage any student or staff member who is sick to stay home. Regardless of the current public focus on COVID-19, it’s important to limit your exposure to others if you are ill for any reason and seek medical attention if symptoms worsen or linger.
We will continue prioritizing the health and safety of your child. And we promise to keep you informed as we receive updates from Arizona’s Department of Education, Department of Health Services and other public officials.
Should you have questions or concerns, please reach out to your child's. And, as always, thank you for choosing a Leona Group school for your child’s education. We are proud to partner with you, redefining what’s possible for your child’s future!
